In Western astrology, “signs” are categorized into four elements: air, earth, fire and water. Each of those elements is further broken down into three signs. Water includes Cancer (June 21–July 22), Scorpio (Oct. 23–Nov. 21) and Pisces (Feb. 19–March 20). 

Water signs are known for their emotion, intuition and depth. Generally speaking, they’re empathetic, creative and deeply connected to the emotional currents around them.
