EMBiz: Why Brand Events Are Back
I'm Laurel Mintz, CEO and Founder of Elevate My Brand, and this is EMBiz. We are back in the era of events, but people are still curious as to why that is.
We went so far to the left of digital that event marketing wasn't even a thing for a while. Obviously, with COVID, we understand the why behind that, but. But now we're starting to see the pendulum swing back, and I, for one, am so excited about it. You know, I'm an IRL/in-person girly. And event marketing in particular can be so impactful, especially for new and emerging brands. Now we see great activations happening for brands of all sizes, scales, and ages, but there's just this really clear perspective that consumers are over digital. They really want those live-in-person experiences, whether it's a networking event or a brand activation.
And there are so many great ways for consumers to experience brands through this immersive storytelling narrative that we are now seeing to emerge specifically in live events. It's a great way to also increase loyalty, especially for new brands. When you do a great activation, and someone sees a brand for the first time, there's this really visceral connection that you have with a new brand in a new category, and there's a real loyalty that can be built along that path.
And let's just face it, it's a heck of a lot of fun. I, for one, am here behind the camera for you all, but I'm kind of in the same mindset that digital is a little overwhelming. Our inboxes are flooded every day, and it's time to get back to the human connection. And that' what live events or the IRL experiential moment or activation really allows you to do both as an individual and a brand.
