EMBiz: Games and Team Building

Hi guys Laurel Mintz here with Elevate My Brand. Today I want to talk a little bit about using games and play for team building. So for those of you who know me, you know that I am hypercompetitive, and you also know that the core of our agency is creativity, fun and play. At the end of the day, we’re not curing cancer and so I really think it’s important to get your team up out of their seats and play some games together, get the energies flowing. It really helps to shift the mood if there’s a funky day, which we all have. It also opens the channels of communication. And it doesn’t have to be something too complex. For example, we have giant Jenga in the office. Every now and then I’ll call the team in and I will challenge them to a game. And it just shifts the energy in a really positive way. It encourages a fun work environment, which as you guys know is so important to retain top talent, it develops your creative skills, and it fosters problem solving and reduces stress.
