Emails That Get Clients’ Attention

I’ve been running my agency for 11 years - I can’t even believe it! One of the reasons we’ve been successful is because we’re very clear about our email marketing strategy. One of the best things that you could do to get your emails opened and responded to is coming up with really clever subject lines. Now of course this needs to be aligned with the voice of your particular brand. For us, we’re a little fun and irreverent (we curse a lot) and in the subject line of a lot of our emails if we’re not getting a response back, we’ll literally say “Mic Tap: Is This Thing On?” or “Hey I’m Totally Stalking You”. So obviously that’s who we are as an agency. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and we try to have fun and I get about an 80% return rate on those emails. The truth is we have so many emails coming in our inbox everyday so if you can just break through the noise and be a little different and make someone stop and take notice, you’ll get a much better email response rate.

Your homework is to go and create some really great subject lines that are more aligned with your brand, but aren’t just “Hey Just Checking In”. Break through the norm!
