Hi guys, Laurel Mintz here with Elevate My Brand. On today’s episode of marketing myth busters, we’re going to talk about the myth that people think that if they build great organic content, that they don’t need a paid ad strategy. This is a total myth. Although I do want to say that it is absolutely critical that you build consistent organic content that is very keyword focused as well. Content is King, Queen and the Duke of York - you’ve heard me say that before. It needs to be keyword focused so that it is really targeted towards conquesting organic eyeballs, but you also need a paid strategy.
Google recently released a statement saying that you have to spend money with them in order to be found, so that’s on the web traffic side. And then similarly on the social media side, you’ve got to spend money on advertising because again, organic as it relates to social just aint going to cut it for you. So again, this is a big myth but it’s kind of a half myth half truth because you do need to build great organic content, but the other big piece I want you to take away is that you can’t just build random organic content. It has to be organic content that is really keyword focused (google has great keyword tools that are free), and also using semantic web so that when people start to type that auto population is telling you what people are searching for the most within your category. SO if you build great organic content around that and you bolster it with a little bit of paid ads from google, maybe some content aggregation platforms like Outbrain or Taboola and then of course if you're building your social following on those platforms as well, thats where marketing traffic gold is going to come in.
So this is a half myth busted. Make sure that you have a paid strategy alongside your organic. Stay tuned for more from Elevate My Brand.
