Hi guys, Laurel Mintz here with Elevate My Brand. I know the topic is not very exciting but employee training is so important when it comes to retaining top talent. And I know as we get into a more competitive industry that it’s so important for you to retain people that you have in your company. So what do we do at EMB to help create that environment and train our team?
First is of course going beyond the handbook. Having a handbook is kind of 101, making sure everyone is following the rules and regulations within that handbook is great, but you need to really go beyond the handbook - and what does that actually look like?
Well first, we do a lot of lunch and learns with our team. So we want to make sure that we’re always looking at what the next interesting trends are, technologies - you know AI is a big buzzword right now. So what is it that we can continue to train our team on that gets them excited about what’s new and next in the industry, and in whatever industry you’re in.
Second, of course, sharing your own values and making sure that there is a cohesive value set within your team. There is nothing worse than having a sour grape or a spoiled apple in your group because they don’t share the same values as the rest of your team. So make sure your team is a part of building those values and that everyone is on the same page.
And then of course sharing stories and brainstorming both internally - So what can you do to support your company? And then of course externally as well - What is it that you can brainstorm to be really creative for the clients that you work with?
