On this EMBiz I want to talk about how things have shifted now that people understand that they can work remotely. I think historically businesses were very nervous about letting people work from home. There was a mentality or a thought process that you had to physically be in the same environment, you had to control your employees and you had to have eyeballs on them to make sure that they were working really effectively.
What I think has been really amazing about this COVID experience is that we now know that that’s absolutely not true. Obviously we are a digital agency so we’re already doing everything online and that has made the transition for us very easy. But I think on more of a meta scale, businesses are realizing that employees can hold themselves accountable. There are a lot of tools out there like Harvest for time tracking that allows them to have oversight even in a remote environment.
So while things are shifting back to the next normal, I really hope that this maintains because the truth is, happy employees are always going to be productive employees. And let’s face it - it’s kind of nice to throw in a load of laundry in between your marketing calls. So, I’ve really appreciated it. I hope that you have. I know that my team has been super productive, and I really do hope that conservative and traditional businesses understand that this is a pivot that has been really beneficial on all sides.
I also think it’s going to be really interesting to see how this affects the real estate market. People are realizing that they don’t need these big fancy offices anymore. I mean don’t get me wrong I still love mine, but I think there’s a real shift in the use of funds for businesses like mine. So I’d love to hear your opinion. Let us know what you think and stay tuned for more from Elevate My Brand.
