EMBiz - Staying Ahead of COVID-19

Hi guys, Laurel Mintz here with Elevate My Brand. It is a really scary, unknown time out there, and so as a small business owner I thought it was my duty to reach out and have a conversation with you and tell you how you could be a part of the solution instead of part of the problem.

So what we know from history is that usually during these times, businesses pull out of their marketing dollars. They pull out advertising dollars and they’re really just scared, and I totally get that. However, what we really saw in 2008-2009 was that the businesses that doubled down on their ad spend and their marketing were the ones that were really well positioned to capture new market share when the market turned back around. Because think about it, if all these businesses are pulling out their dollars and their content from the market and you’re pushing more into the market, you’re going to be able to capture more market share with less spend.

So I know that it’s a scary time out there and I know that marketing and advertising is probably one of the last things on your mind, but truly it is one of the best ways for you to capture new eyeballs and make sure that we’re setting ourselves up for long-term success. Honestly, we are in a very scary time. We are unsure about what’s going to happen economically and this is one way that we can stay ahead of the curve to make sure that your business and others out there can survive long-term.
